New Aerial Photographs

I woke up in an airplane the other morning. I've got to tell you, it was pretty spectacular. I woke up to the most magnificent sunrise that I can ever remember seeing. I like waking up like that. A girl could get used to that sort of thing.

I love flying. I really, truly do. Its easy to focus on the annoyances of airline security and long layovers and bad food and all the rest, but really when you think about it, its absolutely incredible to get to see the sunrise from the top of the sky. Thanks Orville and Wilbur. You guys really were on to something with that whole flying machine thing.

Sorry about the edit being so wide, but you've just got to see this. I'm sure you saw it from the ground, but I thought you should see if from the sky too. Here they are in chronological order.  I present to you, my dear readers, the sun in the morning.

Stinky McGee

Who doesn't love a kid in a bowtie? I'll give you a minute to think about it. Can't think of anyone, can you? Me neither. That's why I was thrilled when Christine Ryan asked me to photograph her new collection of bowties and neckties for boys. Her exciting new company that everyone is talking about is called Stinky McGee and you're likely to see her handiwork popping up at all of your favorite shops around Brooklyn and beyond.

Here is a sneak peak of the photos of her summer collection. Full disclosure- my son is one of the handsome young men in these images. Just for the record though, I don't let him wear just any old bowtie.

Mystery Roll of Film

I found this mystery roll of film in my kitchen last week, high on a shelf. Not sure how it got up there, but it was a nice surprise to find it. Now that I am mostly shooting digital, these mystery rolls are becoming more and more rare. Each frame feels so much more precious when you only have 10 possible images in a roll of film. These pictures are from a trip to Massachusetts last fall. I really like the first picture of the peacock. They really are exquisite birds.

We're in the beginning hours of a heat wave here in Brooklyn. Hope you are staying cool wherever you are in the world.

Welcome Home, Baby Elliot!

Here he is! Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you one of the newest additions to our world, little baby Elliot. I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time at Beth and David's house soon after Elliot came home. We only had time for an abbreviated shoot because our main little man was feeling a bit camera shy that day. I look forward to posting the pictures from our follow up shoot in a few weeks.

Some of you may recognize this crew from a maternity shoot that I did with Beth a few months back. Here is the link to the photos.

Elliot is such a sweet baby; I can't wait to see him again. Congratulations to Beth and David!
