Jaimee's Belly Shoot

Can this woman rock horizontal stripes, or what? Jaimee is an old friend and will soon be inaugurated into the ever expanding world of Brooklyn moms. We spent some time in Prospect Park on Saturday morning to put this exciting part of her life down on paper. We were able to sneak into a beautiful pavilion in a secret tucked away part of the park. A big thanks to the Parks Department gentleman that allowed us entry into this beautiful place to shoot. You're a peach. You know who you are.

Best of luck, Jaimee and Charlie! I can't wait to meet the baby!

Alexei's BIrthday Portrait

This handsome young man is named Alexei and he has just turned two years old. Playing a supporting role in these portraits is Alexei's favorite thing, a friend that is simply called Bunny. Because Alexei's parents are such design savvy folks, I photographed him in front of the fantastic wallpaper in his bedroom. It made for such a beautiful backdrop.

And here he is, the birthday boy extraordinaire. Happy birthday Alexei. This year is going to be great for you. I can just feel it.

Petra's Birthday Portrait

I photographed Petra and her family last year around this time. Here are some of the images of Petra from that shoot.

I went back this week to shoot one of my new birthday portraits when she turned 6. Petra is shown here with her favorite shell. I love the way that the shell looks against her dress. I have a few of these birthday shoots scheduled in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more. Happy birthday Petra!

Sadie Lou Turns Two!

I had the pleasure of taking Sadie's birthday portrait again this year. Here are some of the photos from last year's shoot. I can't believe that it has already been a full year!

Here is our girl now! What a difference a year can make. This image is part of a new set of birthday portraits that I have started to offer. I photographed Sadie with her beloved bear in front of a vintage fabric backdrop. When I asked Sadie's parents if they could pick one object to have in her birthday portrait, there was no hesitation. Bear is like a part of the family at this point. I will post more birthday portraits soon. I'm really excited about them.

Jack and Mike's Birthday Party

This was baby Jack back in the day.

And this is baby Jack now! He's older, more sophisticated and more refined.  Below are some of the pictures from Mike and Jack's birthday party last month. One turned 40 and the other celebrated his first birthday. I'll let you decide who celebrated what. Lauren organized an adorable camping themed party for both of them.  I had such a great time, thanks so much for inviting me back to photograph Jack. Congrats to both of you!

New Aerial Photographs

I woke up in an airplane the other morning. I've got to tell you, it was pretty spectacular. I woke up to the most magnificent sunrise that I can ever remember seeing. I like waking up like that. A girl could get used to that sort of thing.

I love flying. I really, truly do. Its easy to focus on the annoyances of airline security and long layovers and bad food and all the rest, but really when you think about it, its absolutely incredible to get to see the sunrise from the top of the sky. Thanks Orville and Wilbur. You guys really were on to something with that whole flying machine thing.

Sorry about the edit being so wide, but you've just got to see this. I'm sure you saw it from the ground, but I thought you should see if from the sky too. Here they are in chronological order.  I present to you, my dear readers, the sun in the morning.
